Surrey Services Caregiver Wins Governor’s 2002 Silver & Gold Award |

Berwyn, PA, October 23, 2002 – Mary Auchincloss, a caregiver with Surrey Services for Seniors home care department, has been awarded the Governor’s 2002 Silver & Gold Award in the caregiving category. This award recognizes individuals who provide personal care that enables a person to maintain dignity and an acceptable quality of life at home and in the community. Over 200 individuals active in aging services in Pennsylvania attended the reception and ceremony at Camp Hill on October 22nd. Pennsylvania’s Department of Aging Acting Secretary, Lori Gerhard, congratulated Mary Auchincloss on her achievement. Surrey Services is a non-profit organization offering a variety of programs and support services designed to recognize the many contributions older citizens have made to their community; assist them to continue to be active, productive members of society and enable them to live independently with dignity and self-reliance in their own homes. Since 1981 Surrey has been serving people 55 and older who live in communities from Bryn Mawr to Malvern. Today, some 1600 older adults benefit from Surrey’s “neighbor helping neighbor” approach. |
