Surrey’s commitment to the health and well-being of the community we serve is well illustrated by the range of activities offered.  Active people involved with others and in touch with their world usually enjoy the mental health necessary to maintain their independence.  At times of change – loss of a lifetime partner or friends, downsizing one’s home, declining health – it is particularly important to rebuild.  Surrey offers a supportive, welcoming environment and  the companionship of others who are  also making this transition. Our goal is to help people create a new world for themselves - to make new friends, enjoy new experiences and build on their sense of self-worth, not just through involvement in the activity, but by helping others.

We’ll organize the activity, provide transportation and, because our mission is to make these programs available to everyone regardless of their ability to pay, we’ll even subsidize any fees as needed.

Intergenerational activities with local school students enable us to keep in touch with the younger generation. Our fitness program offers workouts for both the athlete and armchair–bound. To tempt your taste buds, you can stop by Surrey for lunch four times a week or join us on an outing to a local restaurant. Whether your preference is for cards or board games at Surrey House or other activities, take a look at our monthly calendar for both locations, or just check with Elaine at 610-647-9172 or via email, included with your newsletter, for details.
