Surrey Services depends on the energy and commitment of hundreds of volunteers each year. Volunteers range in age from elementary school age to individuals in their ninth decade. Over two-thirds of Surrey volunteers are older people themselves; they are seniors helping other seniors.

Help deliver activities such as Surrey’s drama, antique club, chorus, needlework and crafts, field trips, exercise classes, and much more Offer companionship and services, including daily phone calls and reading for the visually impaired Perform minor home repair work and light gardening Drive Surrey members to medical appointments, the grocery store, and do a variety of other errands Shop for homebound members Assist with a variety of clerical and data entry tasks at our locations Put their professional expertise and experience to work on committees, including volunteer recruitment and community outreach 2009 Surrey Angels Honored at Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon   Over 150 volunteers attended the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon this September, to celebrate over 41,000 hours contributed to Surrey over the past year.   We also honored this year's Surrey Angels, pictured above (from left to right) Berwyn's 2009 Angel Award Winner, Jane Sofield, Surrey President, Barbara Fentress, Chairman of the Board, David Levine, Broomall Director, Suzanne Werner & Broomall's 2009 Angel Award Winner, Helen Hurst.
